We have really enjoyed watching our water cycles and are all able to describe what's going on. We checked them regularly and it was quite exciting when it was sunny - the difference it made.
How many paper clips can you add to a full to the brim pot of water?
We were really surprised! We all gave our hypothesis then we filled the pot as full as we could without it over flowing - we even topped it up with a pipette full of water....
How many drops of water can fit onto a penny without spilling off? If you haven't ever tried this you really should!
We learned about surface tension and what happens to water molecules...
We made our own water molecules... out of spaghetti and mini marshmallows. The pink were Hydrogen atoms and the white were oxygen - we learned what H20 means. Jim came in and asked us how you make a water molecule disappear? Then he showed us...and said it was delicious!! Ha ha Jim!
